Our Position
Seeleaks is built for lawful, professional use. We expect every user to understand and respect the legal framework that applies to them, wherever they operate. This page outlines how we approach international compliance obligations.
Jurisdictional Awareness
OSINT data is regulated differently across the world. In particular:
- European Union (GDPR): personal data may only be processed on a valid legal basis. Querying, storing, or resharing personal data without one may be unlawful;
- United States: statutes such as the FCRA restrict the use of consumer data for eligibility decisions (employment, credit, tenancy, insurance). Seeleaks results must never be used for such purposes. State privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA and others) may also apply;
- Other regions: many countries impose their own data protection, telecommunications, or fair-credit regimes. It is your responsibility to identify and comply with the ones relevant to you.
Prohibited Uses
Regardless of jurisdiction, Seeleaks may never be used for:
- Harassment, stalking, threats, or doxxing;
- Identity theft, account takeover, or unauthorized access;
- Employment, tenant, credit, or insurance screening;
- Any purpose that would violate a person's fundamental rights.
Enforcement
We cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities and may act on credible reports of abuse, up to and including account suspension and preservation of relevant records where legally required.
Reporting Abuse
If you believe the platform is being used unlawfully — including for your own personal data — open a support ticket. We treat substantiated reports as a priority and will take appropriate action.
Disclaimer
